Having laid to rest the Phantom, Erik Costanzi dedicates himself to his family and to his work at the Teatro dell’Opera. An illness forces Meg to withdraw from the stage and Erik to hire a competent but uninspiring replacement. When Meg resists his encouragement to resume her place as diva, Erik wonders why she is reluctant. As Erik and Meg come to a crossroads, tensions flare at the Teatro among the other members of Erik’s domain. Just as the Phantom learned that he could not impose his will with impunity, Erik comes to understand the limits of his own powers. But when a murder stuns the opera world and casts suspicion on everyone, who would be a more likely suspect than the enigmatic “Masked Genius of the Opera”?
Phantom Murder Sadie Montgomery Books
"Phantom Murder" is book 6 in "The Phoenix of the Opera" series. Erik and Meg finally have settled into a comfortable life in Rome, when a severe respiratory illness sweeps through the family, nearly taking Meg's life. Upon her recovery, she finds that she is no longer able to sing. Tensions rise between her and Erik as his encouragement to work to regain her voice meets with resistance and Meg begins to spend more and more time in the ballet studio.Behind the scenes at the opera house, Chiara, the new soprano, battles with Erik as she fails to meet his high standards and resists his efforts to mold her voice. Carlotta, driven by her jealousy of Chiara, embarks on a series of rash actions that have dire consequences not only for herself, but the entire opera house, as Erik becomes the prime suspect in a high-profile murder investigation.
This is a very well crafted murder mystery with plenty of suspects and twists and turns in the plot. Interwoven into the main story, there are details of interactions among the older children of the Costanzis and Chagnys as they face the challenges of becoming men and begin to assert their independence, and background stories involving several new characters. As always, Raoul and Christine are there with their friendship and support.
I have enjoyed this entire series, and highly recommend each of the books. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Montgomery, whether it be more of "The Phoenix" stories or on another topic.

Phantom Murder Sadie Montgomery Books Reviews
I finally read all six books I loved them but I wish I was Meg Giry the whole time lol! If I had to pick a favorite Mrs. Sadie Montgomery it would probably be book #3 The Phantom's Opera. Here is my favorite part "I'm a new man, Giovanni. If you want to imitate me, you'll have to abandon the mask and get a face like this one." Erik smiled mirthlessly at his young nemesis, his teeth shining madly in the dim light of piazza. "You can't have her! She loves me. The mask won't do. You could never giver what she wants, because she wants me!" Giovanni tried to follow Meg and Roul, but each time he shifted Erik was there."

Sadie never disappoints. Love all her books. Can't put them down once I start reading them. I hope she'll write another in the Phoenix series.
Phantom Murder - Sadie Montgomery
If you are a lover of Phantom of the Opera then you need to read Sadie Montgomery's Phantom tales. She takes you behind the Mask to find the true Phantom. This is a book you can not put down. The plots take you deep into the mysteries and just as you think all is lost....Love triumphs!
I absolutely love this series and am heartbroken that after reading each of the six books one after another I have now come to the end. Please, Sadie, keep this series going and give me more! I promise you will have a customer for life!
I have read all six of Sadie Montgomery's books in the Phantom series. "Phantom Murder" is now my favorite in the series. Each new book becomes my favorite because each one is written from a different angle from the previous ones which makes each book unique. You will not be reading the same thing over and over again from this series. I love how Sadie has developed the main characters, which I have grown to love even more than from the movie. This new book is written as a mystery and I loved the way Sadie kept you guessing throughout. She developed the characters first and told their stories and then the mystery started. I enjoyed it immensely!! Looking forward to the next book!
Sadie Montgomery, never one to fear a new challenge set out to write a murder mystery and still keep all the characters from her beloved Phoenix of The Opera Series.
She did and she did it successfully.
This book was the thickest of her series and I had it read before I knew it because I was glued to it.
Along with the mystery of the murder where more than one of our beloved characters are amongst the suspects, several love stories build up between new and old couples.
Some couples have trials and tribulations outside being suspected of murder.
Before the murder Meg gets deathly ill when her twins contract an illness. She probably gets more ill than any of her children did. It renders her unable to be the diva at Erik's opera house. After she is healed
Erik wants her to return. Meg does not want to return in a primary role and that causes tension.
In the middle of all this there are people plotting and causing trouble.
The de Chagneys show up with helping hands as always.
The murder gets solved.
Erik realizes Meg's love of dance and let's her explore it.
It is a wonderful book with many twists, turns and surprises.
You will not regret purchasing it.
As with of Sadie's books I recommend it highly.

I had the thrill of reading the 6th book in Sadie Montgomery's series of Phantom books, "Phantom Murder". It's a lovely story of Meg finally coming into her own and showing Erik and the world what she was capable of and so became an empowered, inspirational woman - which poor, conflicted Erik supported with much love. Of course, as with most Phantom stories, the path to happiness is never easy and Erik and his Meg stumble along a very rocky path for a while. The children are growing up and love is coming into their lives, adding another layer of worry for Erik. There is a murder (justified, in my opinion) for which Erik is suspect which also causes much sadness and worry in the family. Through it all, the strong friendship of Erik's and Meg's dearest friends, Christine and Raoul, add love and support when sorely needed. All our favorite characters are back and I'm glad because I miss them if they aren't around. Every time I finish one of Sadie's books, I feel like I am saying good-bye to treasured friends. Can't wait to see what happens next! (Hear that, Sadie??)
